Who We Are
PIATRA was started in 2006 in Adelaide, Australia as the personal consultation service of Dr Peter Kalt.
Dr Kalt was an academic researcher working in the fields of thermodynamics, laser-diagnostics and image processing. Private consulting services were available through Adelaide Research and Innovation (ARI), the commercialisation arm of the University of Adelaide. Dr Kalt's consulting clients included private companies, government agencies and public institutions.
In 2013, Dr Kalt, transitioned out of research, to focus on technical consultation full time. PIATRA consulting was formed and relocated to Sydney's Inner West. PIATRA offered services to companies in the automation and building services space, mechanical engineering design and data analysis.
Invention, it must be humbly admitted, does not consist in creating out of void, but out of chaos.

Dr Kalt founded (and was director of) Enigma Algorithms in 2018, a building automation services company providing specific hardware to many commercial properties. The company focussed on façade control and energy optimisation of commercial high-rise properties through automation of control surfaces.
Subsequently, building relationships with talented coders, engineers and other consultants. PIATRA has since expanded its team of dedicated and skilled professionals - now offering services across our core fields of automation, control, optimisation and coding.
